Consisting of two sweeping lawns, a reception hall and a 3-storey building that promises plenty of photo opportunities and beautiful rooms to get ready in, Margaret Mitchell House sits proud and pretty in midtown, Atlanta. The bridal suite is comprehensive and feminine with soft colors, and the groom suite is a full set of rooms complete with a dining and living area adjoining an en suite balcony.
The couple can start their big day in the bridal and groom suites. From there, it’s a quick trip downstairs for stunning portraits with the aid of natural light pouring in through the tall windows. Then, it’s on to the ceremony in the large, lush lawn by the building, and cocktail hour after in the second lawn a few steps down. The lawns and the ground floor offer plenty of opportunity for family portraits.
Finally, it is on to the grand Trellis Room which can house up to 80 guests. A bonus is the fabulous design for the couple’s exit – there are doors leading right out of the Trellis Room onto the street!
You might be wondering about parking whether you’re an attendee or a vendor. There is a full parking lot dedicated to the venue right across the main entrance on Crescent Avenue. Vendors can load and off load their goods at the black gate off Crescent Avenue. Guests can expect to park for free in the parking lot and make a brief 1-minute walk up to the main entrance. From there, it’s one small staircase up to the wedding venue.
